This salmon is prized for it's nutritional value as well as flavor. Copper River Salmon has the same amount of calcium in 3.5 oz as a glass of milk and high in Omega-3's.
The beginning of the season enjoys such fanfare and hype that this salmon sells for $50/lb. This isn't the case for July and August as the sockeye salmon becomes available, but many believe that the sockeye has a better flavor than the king salmon that start the season out.
The Yellow Rose Steak & Chop House will have shipments of fresh sockeye for as long as it can be flown in, and then we hope demand will also keep up for the fabulous coho salmon that finish the Copper River season off in the next couple of months.
